What a great idea to have senior photos at a location where you want to go to school… this Senior is from Missouri visiting California with her mom! We had so much fun last night! I thought senior photos were over and done with but surprisingly the class of 2027 is already starting to inquire! I will be keeping the same senior special I had year round!

If you’re hoping to include your dog this year- Crystal Cove is not dog friendly unfortunately BUT I have a couple of Newport Beach dates at this location that is dog friendly. I’ll include the dog friendly locations in the description for the half sessions. Bringing the family dog sometimes makes the older kids a little more excited for family photos 🤪

My summer work hours feel like… before the house wakes up and after everyone is asleep! Wrapped up editing this family session last night from Salt Creek/ Ritz Carlton/ Dana Point/ Laguna Niguel. I’m not sure what to call it because the Ritz calls it Laguna Niguel, maps calls it Dana Point address wise.. but this is popularly known as Salt Creek. I added this location for the Fall Sessions so if the location is one of those.. you know what I mean! 😊😉

Another adorable beach baby! I loved this location and being her is why I added it to the Fall Sessions!!
You just never know how babies will respond to the beach- especially if the waves scare them…this session was the opposite, he only wanted to be in the water!!

My favorite locations for beach photos… and why most of my sessions this fall are all here!!! It’s beautiful! We almost changed locations for this session because of the south swell that damaged a lot of the coastline last month.. so thankful for the low tide this day!! Summer is half way over and I’m so sad about it!!

Ahh I love Beach Babies!! When I was first starting my photography business I tried to think of names that highlighted what I like photographing the most… babies and the beach.. I ended up just going with my name but summer is such a fun time for these photos.

I’ve added Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point to Fall Sessions. I really loved this area the other day and figured this beach is easier to drive to for some of my south county clients. As much as I love Crystal Cove.. it’s missing Palm Trees which Laguna has but Laguna is pretty crazy these days to drive through in the summertime. If this date doesn’t fill up because it’s too far, I’ll switch it back to Crystal Cove but figured it’s still early enough to play around with the dates.

As you may have noticed, I stopped offering mini sessions this year-with the exception of Christmas Tree Minis. Instead I’m offering half sessions, which includes a lot more photos and a longer session than 15 or 20 min. We’ll see how it goes this year! My goal is to eliminate the stress attached to mini session slots and reduce the turnaround time. This means less families per weekend but my goal is to have more time within the session to produce the best work.

During a senior session last week…. I had to deal with these super distracting waves in the background 🤣… luckily there’s a ton of outfit changes for those to sneak in some shots.. but it made me realize I hardly take photos of anything else besides for work these days. There’s something unsettling about my work camera getting ruined or stolen so I avoid it entirely. My kids are also jerks about taking photos so that’s probably the other reason 😂.
Newport Beach during the recent south swell. This was also an earlier session so the ocean was still a nice blue color. For families on vacation, that want fun,colorful beach photos… this is a great time of day to do them.
