We almost changed locations for this session because of the south swell that damaged a lot of the coastline last month.. so thankful for the low tide this day!! Summer is half way over and I’m so sad about it!!

Ahh I love Beach Babies!! When I was first starting my photography business I tried to think of names that highlighted what I like photographing the most… babies and the beach.. I ended up just going with my name but summer is such a fun time for these photos.

I’ve added Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point to Fall Sessions. I really loved this area the other day and figured this beach is easier to drive to for some of my south county clients. As much as I love Crystal Cove.. it’s missing Palm Trees which Laguna has but Laguna is pretty crazy these days to drive through in the summertime. If this date doesn’t fill up because it’s too far, I’ll switch it back to Crystal Cove but figured it’s still early enough to play around with the dates.

So nice to meet this family visiting Orange County! This mama was sooo happy to have all her kids together on vacation in one place! I feel like these days are just around the corner for me and it makes me appreciate all the moments I force my kids to do photos! 😬🫣

As you may have noticed, I stopped offering mini sessions this year-with the exception of Christmas Tree Minis. Instead I’m offering half sessions, which includes a lot more photos and a longer session than 15 or 20 min. We’ll see how it goes this year! My goal is to eliminate the stress attached to mini session slots and reduce the turnaround time. This means less families per weekend but my goal is to have more time within the session to produce the best work.

During a senior session last week…. I had to deal with these super distracting waves in the background 🤣… luckily there’s a ton of outfit changes for those to sneak in some shots.. but it made me realize I hardly take photos of anything else besides for work these days. There’s something unsettling about my work camera getting ruined or stolen so I avoid it entirely. My kids are also jerks about taking photos so that’s probably the other reason 😂.
Newport Beach during the recent south swell. This was also an earlier session so the ocean was still a nice blue color. For families on vacation, that want fun,colorful beach photos… this is a great time of day to do them.

We’re just a few days into summer… and I have to say… it’s definitely my favorite time of year! Madison and I have already finished a whole series… called Maxton Hall… it’s a German series but so good that you get over the dubbing pretty quick. It’s like Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill… our fav summer thing!
Dylan got a job… so excited for him!
Finally getting around to finishing up all my editing, get permits for next week and update fall sessions. This sweet photoshoot from the spring in Crystal Cove had me so excited for the Fall and reminded me why I love shooting here.

I’ve added some new dates for Fall and made a few changes to include a couple more of the local beaches. I initially saved a lot of Saturdays open for full sessions, however I might start filling those in with half session options the closer we get to fall -if they’re still available.

Some updates:
For the month of July and the first 2 weeks of August, I will only be shooting Monday–Friday.
Sunrise is highly recommended instead of Sunset for Summer Sessions…
Extended Family Sessions are eligible for payment installments from now until August. I know for families traveling this will be some reassurance when booking!

I can’t believe it’s almost Summer☀️
That means 2 things! Fall sessions are literally 2 months away!
2- families vacationing here for the summer are starting to inquire about large family sessions!
Our beaches are pretty crowded during the summer… but there’s always ways around that! Definitely consider sunrise sessions. It can sound miserable if you’re not a morning person but it’s actually amazing compared to the absolute chaos at some of our beaches later on! It’s not the only option but it’s definitely a good one!
Also- if you’re interested in large family sessions for the Fall.. now is a great time to book your date!
